Today let's take a look at the traditional quilt block called Housewife. Maybe we should rename it "Work from Home (for no pay)" to keep up with the times! LOL! Anyway, the block has a lovely pinwheel in the center and flying geese around the outside edge.

Silver Lane Quilt Block - Free Tutorial

Today let's look at the traditional Silver Lane quilt block. The traditional coloring is with four shades of one color plus the light background but I decided to throw a purple print in the mix. While it looks complicated, it's not that difficult with only Flying Geese and Half-Square Triangles to construct.

Dutchman's Puzzle Variation Quilt Block Tutorial

This interesting variation of the Dutchman's Puzzle has a star shape appear in the center, is made almost entirely of Flying Geese units, and uses partial seam construction. Additionally, when multiple blocks are sewn together, a star appears at all the junctions.

Today let's take a look at the Indian Puzzle quilt block. This three-color traditional block uses Flying Geese, Square in a Square and Half Square Triangles to form a very interesting block. At the end I show what happens when you change up the color placement and values.
