Hopscotch Quilt Block Tutorial

So the Hopscotch quilt block I'm going to show you today is nothing like the ones I find in a Google search. This one was first published in the Kansas City Star many years ago. I've been intrigued with this block but it has quite a few patches, seams, etc. so we'll see how I do!?!

Today let's look at the Squares and Diamonds quilt block. This block was first published in the Kansas City Star. Pretty easy to sew with just Half Square Triangles, Hourglasses, and a easy partial seam construction center unit.

Today let's look at this lovely Swing in the Center quilt block. Well, Swing in the Center is one of the names it goes by - there's also Dumbbell Block, Mrs. Roosevelt's Favorite, and Roman Pavement! No matter the name, it is a pretty block. Here I've made it with three colors and a light background.

Contrary Wife Quilt Block Tutorial

Today let's look at the Contrary Wife quilt block. Now the one I'm going to show you how to sew is not the Contrary Wife block that shows up on the first page of Google if you do a search for it. In fact, there are several quilt blocks called Contrary Wife and I'll probably be doing tutorials on them in the near future. It's a fairly easy block with only Half Square Triangles, squares, and rectangles.

Eva's Garden Quilt Block Tutorial

Today let's sew together an Eva's Garden quilt block! The traditional coloring for this block is just two fabrics - a light and a dark - but, of course, I had to do my own thing and have four fabrics! There are a couple of different ways to construct this Eva's Garden block and I'm going to show you how to do it in a nine-patch way. Let's get started!
